We are Thankful for...

lots of things! This has been an incredible year and we feel so blessed. We found out right at the beginning of 2011 that we were expecting our sweet baby so this year has been filled with new adventures, lots of learning and invaluable support and encouragement from family and friends. God is so good and so this Thanksgiving we have sooooo much to be thankful for. Brian and I are beyond thankful for Mallory and we loved the days we were waiting for her and dreaming about her and now the days where we get to hold her and snuggle and smooch her! She has definitely changed our lives and we thank God for her every day!

Happy Thanksgiving from our little turkey!

What am I thinking?

Mallory has lots of great expressions. Sometimes she makes them in her sleep and sometimes she is awake but no matter what, they always leave me wondering "Just what is she thinking?"! What are your guesses?!?!

Light Up the Sky

This past weekend we took our first road trip with Mallory to Atlanta. She was such a great car rider by snoozing the entire way there and back! We were a little worried that she might not sleep as well being in a different bed but she had no problem. On the other hand, her mom and dad are going to have to get used to sharing a room on trips with a grunting sleeper! Mallory had a great time playing with her cousins, Harrison & Hewitt, and was snuggled and loved bunches by her Uncle Chris, Aunt Rachel and her Grandmama and Granddaddy. Thanks Chris & Rachel for the great hospitality and not minding some indoor squeals!

We also got to celebrate Grandmama's birthday by going to the Atlanta Botanical Garden's "Garden Lights, Holiday Nights". It was a really fun evening complete with dazzling lights, real life carolers, some super cool dance moves by Harrison and even a "Santa Mantis"! Mallory may have snoozed through the entire event but I'm sure she'll get in on the action next time!

The Higgins Clan

Over Thanksgiving we did a little family photo shoot with the Higgins Clan (+ a few O'Neills)! Getting a 3 and a half year old, a 1 and a half year old and a 2 month old to all cooperate is a pretty big feat! Thanks for hosting Uncle Chris and Aunt Rachel! We had a great time!

8 Weeks of Adorable!

I can't believe Mallory turned 8 weeks old yesterday. She is such a sweet baby and her parents are a little over the moon for her! She is getting stronger (and chubbier) every day! Question- why is her double chin so cute? No one ever looks at a picture of an adult and says "What an adorable double chin!" Oh well, Mallory rocks that double chin! Here are a few shots of my bug-a-boo over the past week:

Crying Cuteness!

Can crying be cute? Well... sometimes. Not necessarily when its time to eat and Mallory is stuck in her car seat as Mama tries to speedily get home or in that 30 seconds between bath time being over and getting diapered, lotioned and dressed in her jammies. (Side note: I love it when Brian is putting lotion on Mallory after her bath and if she is squealing he always says "Mama and I paid a lot of money to get massages and you get one every night for free". Usually he gets met with a blank stare and some subsequent squealing! One day she'll appreciate it honey!)

Anyway, back to the cute crying. I was trying to take a picture of my cutie to send to her Grandmama and Mimi but it took a few takes as my baby likes to look intently off to the left side, always the left side! We can't ever really figure out what she is staring at but it enthralls her greatly! Here was the final pic:

Now, you may think she looks happy but really her thought process at this point is "Come on Mama, enough pictures, I have the hiccups, now pick me up!" So this is what happened next:

And that my friends is a pretty cute cry! Don't tell Mallory though, she thinks I am greatly saddened by her cry and would be even more devastated if she found out not only do I think its cute but I purposely let her do it so I could video it and share it with you all!

Scaredy Cat!

What scares you? Spiders? Snakes? Needles? Yawns? What?! Yawns are not scary. That's what you think!

Wedded Bliss!

Mallory was invited to her first wedding (Congratulations Garrett & LeAnn!) and she was the belle of the ball. She ate, she danced and she was fawned over by adoring guests. Mallory's mom learned first hand what it's like to get herself and a 6 week old baby ready all by her lonesome (Brian was working) and she greatly appreciated  when her mother-in-law came to pick them up and saw that Mallory was crying, she was NOT ready and the bag was not packed. But... we got it together, made it in time and had a blast. Here are some highlights:
First Daddy Daughter Dance
Mallory also got to meet her cousin Trent who is 1/5 of our besties from Cali. She can't wait until this summer when she gets to meet her Auntie Ann and her awesome second cousins, Stephen, Aiden and Emma!

Accessorize!

A girl needs accessories! Mallory and I had a lunch date with our favorite ladies from work so I figured it was time to pull out the shoes and headbands. Mama works with a fashionable crew so Mallory cannot slack off when it comes to the outer adornments! I learned that Mallory is okay with shoes although I will have to put them back on about every 5 minutes and she is somewhat okay with head gear as long as it is small (I am guessing this is just a phase as I have procured many a headband with large flowers and bows that I need Mallory to love asap!).
I never have a bad hair day!

It's hard being this cute!

Say Cheese!

I think God knew that if Mallory would flash me sweet smiles in the morning I wouldn't even mind getting up in the 5's (although I'll have to say Mallory usually sleeps until the 6's or even 7's- that's my girl)!!! We love our girlie's grins and thought we'd share a couple with you!

Morning smiles!

So happy!
