30 seconds Max

So here's how it went down. I lay Mallory down on her blanket and place some of her toys around her. I think to myself "hey I could catch up on some blog posts if I had the laptop up here". I run downstairs, grab said laptop and bound back upstairs. As I enter room I see this:

 I start hysterically laughing, grab my camera and take a pic. Then I drop to the floor and see this:

She is sooooo proud of herself!

Breaking Bread

Man cannot live on milk alone! The day finally arrived for baby girl to start her foray into food. First up- delicious rice cereal. I don't really know if it's delicious cause I refuse to taste it but Mallory seems to really enjoy it so I'll just take her word for it! Okay, so let me back up. A few days before we started Mallory on rice cereal I was eating some apple slices and holding Mallory. The whole time she was trying to grab the apple so finally I just put it up to her mouth and let her lick it. Bad move Mama. She grabbed that apple slice so fast and was trying to stuff the whole thing in her mouth. As I gently took it out of her super tight grasp she didn't just fuss she all out wailed like she was in pure distress. I thought this can't be about the apple so I let her take another lick (when will I learn?) and sure enough the moment I took it away the wailing started up again. It was so shocking/funny that we had to document it to share. Here is our sad little apple loving baby:

And now onto the rice cereal. Bottom line- our baby loves to eat! Next up- oatmeal. Ooooooooh!

 

5-5-5 month old baby

Well, we are rocking and a rolling right past 5 months old. Mallory is so much fun these days! She loves to smile and laugh and can roll all over a room in less than a minute. Still her favorite past time is finding any object within reach and immediately putting it in her mouth. You wouldn't think that tags would be realy tasty but according to Mal they are delicious. She's also still enjoying her dinner time meal of rice cereal or oatmeal and is looking forward to her fruits and veggies! Here are the 5 month stats:

Height- 26"
Weight- approx. 16 lbs

Happiest Baby on the Block

Grandmama (that's my mom) came to visit us during her Winter break and we had the best time! Don't believe me? Well, if a picture is worth a thousand words then this one says it all! Thanks Grandmama for the work-outs, the walks, the delicious cooking lessons, the morning baby hand offs and letting me have my first girls night out! Come back anytime (sooner rather than later)!

 

All You Need is Love

Our little Love-bug wishes everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day! Love takes on a whole new meaning when you become parents. I think loving Mallory is the easiest love I've ever experienced. Now, motherhood is not always easy. It's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I haven't slept-in in almost 5 months. Most of my clothes have milk stains and drool on them. And I have done more laundry in the past 5 months than the previous 9 years combined! It has also been the best 147 days of my life! My sweet girl has the most beautiful blue eyes (just like her Daddy's) and the sweetest smile and her laugh makes me more happy than sleep ever did! I love you Mal!

Dada's Wish Come True

Brian's wish has finally come true. Sweet Mallory laid her head down on his shoulder and fell asleep. Since the day she came home Brian has been talking about wanting her to do this and last night his wish became a reality. This is one happy Dada!

Mallory has a new favorite toy. Her feet! She loves to play with them and the fact that they are attached to her and she can have them any time, any place makes her oh so happy!
